Ventenac, with about 400 inhabitants, is an unspoiled sleepy village situated on the beautiful Canal du Midi and is set within the Minervois vineyards. The village has two restaurants, with pleasant outside dining next to the Canal du Midi and also has a local shop & bakery. The canal is tree-lined, with a canal-path that affords great walks or bike rides. Today, the canal is used by pleasure barges.

The beautiful Chateau is the focal point of the village. The Chateau is the place to taste and buy excellent local wine, or you can visit their wine museum.
